Inter Milan secure free transfer for Man United defender Matteo Darmian

– Matteo Darmian has been widely linked with a move back to Italy

– The defender is said not to be part of Solskjaer’s plans this season

– Mail Online reports the Italian will join Inter when his contract expires Serie A giants Inter Milan are reportedly set to land Manchester United outcast Matteo Darmian after agreeing a deal to sign the defender upon the expiry of his contract with the Premier League.

According to Mail Online citing sources in Italy, Darmian already has agreed to join Inter when he runs out of contract with United next summer.

The full-back has struggled for game time since his arrival at United in the summer of 201 from Torino.

During his four-year stay at Old Trafford, he has been unable to hold down a starting role in United’s set up, and has been limited to just 92 appearances.

Darmian featured for the Red Devils just seven times in all competitions last campaign, and looks set to miss out on a role this season after the arrival of Harry Maguire and Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

With potential suitors are at liberty to enter into pre-contract agreements with players who are in their final six months on their contract, Inter appears to have stolen a march on other interested clubs.

The Italian was initially linked with surprise move to Juventus and Barcelona earlier in the summer.

NaijaExtra reported that Belgium international Romelu Lukaku has finally joined Italian League giants Inter Milan from Manchester United this summer.

The 26-year-old striker sealed a move away from Old Trafford in a deal valued around £73 million on transfer deadline day in England.
